MEMPHIS, Tenn. – A new documentary series following a group of Memphis Rox climbers on their journey to climb Mount Kenya will premiere on Hulu Friday, Sept. 5.
“Memphis to the Mountain” follows nine rock climbers from Memphis as they train and attempt to climb the second tallest mountain in Africa, known as one of the most dangerous and challenging climbs in the country.
Filmed between December 2023 and January 2024, Jarmond Johnson, a beloved Memphis Rox employee who was shot and killed earlier this year, is featured prominently throughout the series. The series is dedicated in his memory.
“I never knew something that I used to escape the drama going on in front of me could lead me all the way to Africa,” said Jarmond Johnson, months prior to his death in an interview with Men’s Health.
