Camden Johnson, who helped the Oklahoma Sooners win the 2026 NCAA College World Series and the Hutchinson Monarchs win the 2025 NBC World Series, was selected in the ninth round of the 2026 Major League Baseball Draft Sunday by the Kansas City Royals.
Johnson, a 6-foot, 176-pound third baseman/shortstop/outfielder, played two seasons at Wichita State University before transferring to Oklahoma, where he finished with 73 hits, nine home runs, 48 RBIs and a .293 batting average.
Johnson, ranked as the 116th top prospect by MLB Pipeline, led the team in runs scored with 63 and stole 31 bases, which ranked 12th in school history for a single season.
