Iconic '90s Rock Band Forced to Cancel Show Due to ‘Health Concerns’

Goo Goo Dolls, known for their hit songs “Iris” and “Here Is Gone,” announced an unexpected change to their concert schedule in Bend, Oregon.

The iconic ’90s rock band, which was set to perform at the Hayden Homes Amphitheater, was forced to halt the upcoming performance due to health risks.

The announcement was shared on the band’s official Instagram account, notifying fans and concertgoers about the sudden change and expressing regret for the cancellation.

“Due to health concerns based on the air quality produced by the current wildfires, the Goo Goo Dolls show at Hayden Home Amphitheater scheduled for this evening in Bend, OR has been cancelled,” the post reads.

Despite the cancellation, the band assured attendees that all purchased tickets would be fully refunded.

Additionally, they expressed their excitement about returning to Oregon next year.

“Ticket purchases made online at ticketmaster.com will automatically be refunded. For all other purchases, refunds at point of purchase. The band looks forward to returning to Oregon in 2026,” the statement furthered.

The sudden change came after wildfire smoke from the Emigrant Fire in the Willamette National Forest rolled into town.

Unfortunately, this has affected the air quality in the area, making it unsafe for large outdoor gatherings like concerts.

Following the band’s announcement, fans praised them for prioritizing the safety and health of everyone.

“So glad you’re protecting your health, and the audience’s health. Wildfire smoke is no joke,” one wrote.

“Dang! Safety first for everyone,” a follower echoed in agreement.

However, there were some who couldn’t hide their disappointment but, at some point, understood the severity of the situation.

“We drove four hours for this concert,” a user said.

“Drove 7 hours for the Bend show specifically because of my love for the venue (when I only live 2 hours from Spokane). I’m SSSOOOOOO BUMMED,” a commenter added.

“That’s so sad. I’m sorry for the fans who’ll be missing tonight’s show,” a supporter said.

The same goes for another who wrote, “Just drove up for the show! So sad to hear this.”

“D–n, that’s disappointing. I understand why, but that’s a bummer we won’t see you guys. Honestly, I blame Bend for not having a big enough indoor venue,” a user remarked.

Besides their supposed show tonight in Bend, Oregon, the “Slide” hitmaker is ending August with a performance in Woodinville, Washington.

As for the whole of September, Goo Goo Dolls have lined up shows in California, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kentucky and Missouri, ending the tour with a final performance in New York.
