Deftones have a few things to celebrate as they continue their North American tour this week.
The alternative metal band’s latest album, Private Music, has debuted atop all of Billboard’s rock album charts dated Sept. 6, according to the music magazine. The list includes:
Top Rock & Alternative Albums
According to Billboard, Deftones have claimed their first No. 1 on Top Rock & Alternative Albums, surpassing three of their releases that had peaked at No. 2: Diamond Eyes (2010), Gore (2016) and Ohms (2020).
Additionally, Private Music has started at No. 5 on the all-genre Billboard 200, becoming the fifth top-5 title for the Sacramento-based group. They first reached the region in 2000 with White Pony, the magazine reported, which peaked at No. 3.
Fans of Deftones will attest that Private Music features multiple catchy tracks. On that note, the Grammy-winning band have topped Billboard’s Hot Hard Rock Songs chart for the second time this year. “Infinite Source” debuted at No. 1 with 4.2 million official U.S. streams. It follows the one-week reign of “My Mind Is a Mountain,” which was the lead single of Private Music and opened atop the July 26 tally, as Billboard reported this week.
