Cyndi Lauperended her Girls Just Wanna Have Fun Farewell Tour recently, and she went out with a bang. The final concert took place at the legendary Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.
Several famous faces helped make Lauper’s last concert a night to remember, including Joni Mitchell, John Legend, and Cher performing on stage with her. Lauper also had some special guests in the audience, two of whom have a deep connection with the singer from back in the day.
Martha Plimpton and Corey Feldman Support Cyndi Lauper at Final Concert
Taking to Instagram, Corey Feldman and Martha Plimpton gushed over their friend Lauper. Plimpton shared several black and white photos of her and Lauper backstage.
It was easy to see that the actress was emotional as she hugged Lauper in one of the pictures. She proved that further in her heartfelt caption to the iconic singer.
“There is something so incredible about seeing someone you love with women you love. I’ll never forget this night. @cyndilauper you are a wonder and a power and a force for human connection and womanly honesty and decency and FUN. I love you and I love that I got to share this night with my woman family. I’ll honestly never forget it as long as I live, and hopefully, if I’m lucky, longer,” Plimpton wrote on the Instagram post.
Feldman posted three photos from the night, including some with Lauper, his girlfriend, and his sister. There was also a video from Lauper’s final song which was of course “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun.”
The actor revealed that a good time was had by all, especially since his sister got to meet Mitchell at the afterparty. Feldman then gave a shout out to Lauper, writing, “CYNDI ALSO BROUGHT THE BIG FINALE W HER CLOSE FRIEND , THE LEGENDARY @cher PERFORMED #GIRLSJUSTWANNAHAVEFUN ALL IN ALL THE SHOW WAS #GOODENUFF 4 A #GOONIE LIKE ME! #HAPPYLABORDAY2025.”
The Goonies Bond
1985 introduced movie lovers to The Goonies, which Plimpton and Feldman starred in along with Sean Astin, Josh Brolin, Kerri Green, Jeff Cohen, and Ke Huy Quan. In the film, Feldman’s character, Mouth, and Plimpton’s character, Stef, end up with a little love connection.
The movie is a cult classic for sure. Lauper played her part in making the film a hit thanks to her song “The Goonies ‘R’ Good Enough.” It was the theme song for the movie, but also cemented Lauper as an ‘80s music sensation.
Lauper marked the end of an era with her final concert after decades of making music fans love.
