In an appearance on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Latto was asked about how she made up with Ice Spice and whether she would ever be willing to “work things out” with Nicki Minaj, too.
“Girls, you know, we just… Her team reached out to my team, and we figured it out,” she said of her issues with Ice Spice, which kicked off a few years ago after they started taking shots on diss records. “At first I was like, [disapproving ‘hrmph’], but then I was like, [approving ‘hrmph’].”
She then moved on to the topic of Nicki Minaj, and said that she’s “open” to “rekindling with anybody.” On the episode, Latto was also joined by Gizelle Bryant, who said, “We love Nicki.” Latto replied, “I did, too.”
The episode was recorded in New York City last week, before Nicki Minaj reignited her beef with Cardi B. Nicki has been laser-focused on her issues with Cardi as of late, firing off a series of inflamatory posts on social media while promising to release a new album in March next year, seemingly in response to the arrival of Cardi’s new album, Am I the Drama?
In 2022, Latto and Nicki Minaj got into a beef after the latter questioned why her song was moved to the pop category at the Grammys while Latto was still in the rap categories. The two traded shots on social media, but they’ve mostly kept to themselves in recent years. Latto has made a point, however, to side with Cardi B, whom she recently hopped on the “ErrTime” remix with.
Latto got into a heated exchange with Ice Spice last year, but they put their issues to rest with the arrival of their new collaboration, “Gyatt,” last month. They also appeared on Kai Cenat’s stream together not long after that, twerking for Cenat’s viewers. The widely popular Twitch streamer asked them who “made the first move” when it came to moving past their beef, but they refused to get into specifics.
“She sent me the song,” Spice said at the time. “It’s Latto’s song. It’s really, really cute. I loved it. Once I heard it, I was like, yeah, duh.”
