The boyfriend of influencer Chinnu Papu was found dead on Feb. 15, six days after she died by suicide.
Sandesh, a 29-year-old resident of Kasaragod, a municipality in the Indian state of Kerala, was found dead inside his home, hours after he had spoken to authorities as part of a probe into his girlfriend’s death, police told local outlets Onmanorama and The Hindu.
Sandesh worked in door polishing and is survived by his parents, the outlets reported. Authorities registered his death as unnatural.
Onmanorama previously reported that Papu — who cultivated a following of over 200,000 on Instagram, sharing videos about her life in a rural village, local food, and other lifestyle content — was found dead inside an apartment in Adoor around 12 p.m. on Feb. 9, believed by police to be a suicide.

Per Onmanorama, Papu had divorced her husband only a month before her death and had moved to a rented house with her 4-year-old son in the wake of her split. She was also survived by an older and younger brother and her parents.
Her father told the outlet that she had become distressed after the divorce but “made a conscious effort not to show it outwardly.” He added, “She would keep everything to herself and rarely shared her problems with us.”
Papu’s father also shared that she would often travel alone for video shoots, leaving her son at home with her parents, as was true at the time of her death.
