Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wildest dreams are coming true.
In a joint social media post, the Grammy winner and Super Bowl champion, both 35, announced they are engaged after two years of dating.
“Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married 🧨,” Swift wrote via Instagram on Tuesday, August 26, with photos from the romantic moment.
As family, friends and Swifties celebrate the relationship milestone, multiple sources recently shined a light on just how strong Swift and Kelce’s bond became this summer.
“Taylor and Travis have settled into a real rhythm as a couple, and the more time they spend together, the more they realize how aligned they are,” a source shared in Us Weekly’s August 20 cover story.
A second source added, “During this downtime, they really noticed all the little things they have in common. They feel like they’ve found their person.”
Despite a disappointing Super Bowl loss in early February, Kelce took a deserved break from football earlier this summer before kicking off his 13th, and potentially final, NFL season.
As for Swift, she was able to enjoy the NFL offseason with Kelce after she wrapped the Eras world tour in December 2024.

“This time together solidified Taylor knowing that she wants to be with Travis forever,” the second source told Us.
The first insider added, “They want to be married and have kids in the future. They’re both genuinely ready for that chapter.”
For now, Swift remains “incredibly supportive” of Kelce’s career as she gears up to watch her fiancé play on the Kansas City Chiefs. (The team’s first game of the regular season is Friday, September 5.)
“She is the most engulfed fan now,” Kelce shared with GQ in an interview published August 12. “She knows what the injury reports look like.”
And while Kelce prepares to score more touchdowns with his teammate and close friend Patrick Mahomes, Swift is gearing up for the release of her 12th studio album titled The Life of a Showgirl.
After Swift revealed the album cover on the August 13 episode of Kelce’s “New Heights” podcast, fans are already speculating that one song called “Opalite” could be about the NFL player.
Swift notably donned opal earrings while cheering on Kelce at his AFC Championship game in January 2024. Opal also happens to be Kelce’s birthstone, as he was born on October 5, 1989.
(While fans will have to wait until the album’s release date on October 3, Kelce has already described the body of work as “all bangers.”)
When it comes to wedding planning, Kelce and Swift aren’t ready to kiss and tell.
But based on past interviews, it may be fair to say the Super Bowl champion won’t be saying “I do” during football season.
“I’ve seen weddings everywhere but the fall,” Kelce said on a January 2025 episode of his podcast. “So I’m not sure if the fall was a good wedding season.”
