A former Royal butler has offered his perspective on what he believes represents the Royal Family’s “biggest concern” surrounding Prince Harry and Meghan Markle‘s Netflix partnership.
This follows the Duke and Duchess of Sussex’s announcement that they would be extending their profitable agreement with the streaming platform, described as a “multi-year, first look deal.”
Under this fresh arrangement, Netflix holds the power to greenlight or reject any projects before other parties, an understanding the New York Times characterized as a “first-look deal” with the pair, who now possess “more options” but “less investment.”
It makes sense that the royals might feel anxious about the possibility with numerous Harry and Meghan-produced television and film projects looming.
Nevertheless, Grant Harrold, who served as a butler for King Charles, believes there may be fewer concerns this time around, reports The Mirror.
Under the initial agreement five years ago, the Sussexes, who stepped away from their Royal responsibilities for a fresh start in California in 2020, secured a staggering contract reportedly valued at over 100 million dollars.

The show guarantees “celebrity chefs, talented artists, and beloved friends” as they embark on various “hands-on adventures” that will allegedly be filled with “laughter and discovery.”
Through the original contract, Harry and Meghan created multiple shows covering everything from scripted content to lifestyle programming, with productions also featuring Polo, Heart of Invictus, Harry and Meghan and Live to Lead. The documentary featuring Harry and Meghan was a massive hit, racking up 23.4 million views when it premiered in December 2022.
Its popularity skyrocketed, making it the most-watched documentary during its first four days of release.
