Katy Perry might be entering a new musical era — and fans are convinced something big is on the way. The pop superstar sparked speculation this week after posting a cryptic Instagram Story that left her followers buzzing across social media.
In the story, Perry shared the message “How’s your day?” alongside three mysterious emojis. The same symbols also appeared on her official website, where clicking them revealed a hidden message: “We have something for that, sign up to get updates.” The subtle tease was enough to send fans into a frenzy, flooding X (formerly Twitter) with theories about an imminent announcement. “KATY PERRY IS COMING,” one fan wrote, while another declared, “Her reputation era is coming OMFG.”

The pop icon’s last release, 143, arrived a year ago, on September 20, 2024, marking her seventh studio album and a return to the dance-pop roots that defined her early career. Collaborating with Max Martin, Dr. Luke, and Stargate, as well as first-time partners Vaughn Oliver and Rocco Did It Again!, Perry crafted what she described as a “dance party album.”
143 featured guest appearances from Kim Petras, 21 Savage, Doechii, and JID, and spawned several singles including “Woman’s World,” “Lifetimes,” and “I’m His, He’s Mine.” The album debuted at number six on both the Billboard 200 and the UK Albums Chart, also landing in the top ten across eight countries. A digital reissue titled 1432 (I Love You Too) followed in December 2024, featuring four new tracks, including “OK,” which became the project’s fourth single. In support of the album, Perry has been touring globally with her Lifetimes Tour since April 2025.
