Here at CALÓ News, we prefer not to cover gossip, but now that the Nodal-Aguilar-Cazzu drama has reached musical creativity, we can now cover it from a musical perspective.
Rauw has collaborated with Jhayco and Tainy on the song “Rosita,” which includes the line “Yo me dejo y me caso contigo, a lo Christian Nodal,” which translates to “I leave and get married, Christian Nodal style.” The song lyric makes reference to Mexican music artist Christian Nodal, who was Cazzu’s partner and had a daughter with her, until they broke up and he married Angela Aguilar in less than a month.
Rauw has previously collaborated with Cazzu, and they were considered friends until Cazzu unfollowed Rauw, Tainy and Jhayco on social media. What has followed is a back-and-forth on social media that may result in more streams for the song, which is a reggaetón mix with romantic and sexual references throughout the lyrics.
The song is also a reunion for Rauw and Jhayco, who also had tension in the past.
As Rauw and Jahyco’s collaboration has produced this song, it has also sparked controversy between them and Cazzu. Or could it be just a marketing ploy?
Either way, Cazzu posted on X (formerly Twitter): “The art we make is our stance toward life. You already know mine.”
Rauw responded with his own post: “For a long time now, we’ve been living in an era where controversy and gossip make far more noise than art and effort. Even so, what is truly authentic and genuine always finds its way and ultimately transcends over time.”
Jhayco simply doubled down on the song’s lyrics.
Cazzu has now posted a Substack piece describing what she feels, that the lyrics are harmful, not because they hurt her, but they may one day hurt her daughter, and they used her former partner’s action for a line, when they used to call her a friend.
She also said Rauw’s comment exemplifies the camaraderie between men, defending someone’s actions by staying quiet.
Cazzu called the song “forgettable.”
Now people are taking sides in this fresh beef. Some have commented they are team Cazzu, while others comment on the Instagram post by roomVOZ, “Team reggaetón…. Rauw, Jhayco and Tainy mentioned Nodal, playing with his fame of ‘always falling in love.’ Cazzu then uses her daughter for sympathy, like she always does…. Just because she didn’t like it.”
Ironically, she may be bringing more light to the song than it deserves, since many may go searching for the song. Will it translate into more plays for Rauw and Jhayco?
Nodal has also weighed in. He defended the song and criticized Cazzu’s statement.
“Motherhood is sacred. And precisely because of that, it shouldn’t be used as a shield every time you don’t like something,” Nodal said.
What Rauw commented seems like the more nuanced response. Only time will tell if the song is forgettable or if indeed it deserves to be remembered.
