Prince Harry was invited to visit Israel after his latest comments on Gaza during an interview while on tour in Jordan. The Duke of Sussex spoke to Channel 4 News last week and asked for food and medical aid corridors to be opened to help people in Gaza.
Harry said: “The aid corridors need to be opened and they are currently not.” He was speaking after hearing an update on the situation from World Central Kitchen, which provides fresh meals in response to crises.
Echoing the thoughts of WHO director-general Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the duke said there is a need for “full access for humanitarian organisations to be able to deliver that aid to the people that need it the most”.
The Duke said that “it was a really important time for us to collaborate and come here and shine a light and focus on the very real humanitarian catastrophe that has happened and continues”.
But Israel’s deputy foreign minister, Sharren Haskel, hit back at the Duke and claimed his accusations that corridors had been shut were false and invited him to visit the country.
She told internet personality Oli London that Harry’s comments were “deeply disappointing” for amplifying “false narratives”.
She also sent out a message: “Prince Harry, With all due respect, before using your global platform to level accusations against Israel, I would suggest a very simple step: come and see for yourself.
“I personally invite you to visit the humanitarian corridor and witness firsthand how aid is coordinated and delivered. You are welcome to speak directly with the British general serving at the CMCC center — the British representative who acts as deputy commander alongside the American forces overseeing the movement of humanitarian goods. He will tell you clearly: the corridors are open, and thousands of trucks are entering every day.”

She added: “It is deeply disappointing to see influential figures amplify claims without verifying them. With the reach and authority you carry as a member of the British Royal Family, words matter. Facts matter even more.
“Frankly, repeating demonstrably false narratives raises serious questions — and one might say that if your trousers were on fire, you might not even notice. That is how detached these claims are from reality.
“The invitation stands. Come. See. Speak to those on the ground. Then judge.”
