The highly anticipated prequel to the It series, It: Welcome to Derry, has boasted 5.7 million viewers within its first three days (via THR). Created by Andy Muschietti, his sister Barbara Muschietti, and Jason Fuchs, the series also opened to a revered critical response with an Rt score of 78%.
On the flip side, the show is still lagging behind two major HBO hits in terms of the biggest debut for a series on the network. The Game of Thrones‘ spin-off, House of the Dragon and HBO’s The Last of Us currently stand in the first and second spots, respectively, and it doesn’t seem the two giants will be shaken from the top anytime soon.
