Jack White’s prolific recent run isn’t slowing down. The former White Stripes frontman has announced Frozen Charlotte, his seventh solo studio album, due July 10 via Third Man Records. The news arrives alongside the release of the swaggering new single “Dollar Bill.”
The album’s reveal also puts earlier clues into focus. This week, Third Man quietly embedded references to the project throughout its new online series Third Man Release Lab, where viewers were treated to cryptic imagery, references to a mysterious “Frozen Charlotte” character and brief snippets of “Dollar Bill” before the album was formally announced.
More from Spin:
Frozen Charlotte will include the blistering tracks “Derecho Demonico” and “G.O.D. and the Broken Ribs,” both of which White debuted earlier this year on Saturday Night Live. Produced by White himself, Frozen Charlotte marks his first album since No Name, the critically acclaimed 2024 release that yielded the radio hits “That’s How I’m Feeling” and “Archbishop Harold Holmes.” The latter earned additional attention thanks to a memorable video starring actor John C. Reilly as the song’s charismatic titular preacher.
To support the new album, White will embark on an expansive world tour with his longtime backing band of drummer Patrick Keeler, bassist Dominic Davis and keyboardist Bobby Emmett. North American dates begin on release date at Washington, D.C.’s Anthem and stretch through November, including multiple two-night stands in Brooklyn, N.Y., Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta and Miami.
As usual, White is also leaning into the physical format experience. Frozen Charlotte will be available in multiple vinyl editions, including a Third Man-exclusive “Zug Island Blue” pressing, a tour-and-webstore-only “Chrome” variant and an independent-record-store-exclusive “Ice Blue” edition, alongside standard black vinyl, CD and cassette formats.
