The festival will also have food and drink vendors, including the beloved DeMolay ice cream.
The Jackson Elks No. 2652 will operate a beer wagon in the middle of Homecomers, Engelmann said. Beer will be served in plastic cups that attendees of legal drinking age will be allowed to carry and drink throughout the festival, similar to Oktoberfest.
There will be no stationary beer garden like in years past.
After an estimated 15 years, Engelmann said, Homecomers is adding a beauty pageant back to its list of entertainment this year. The beauty pageant will be at 3 p.m. Saturday July 25. The pageant is patriotic-themed and open to girls up to age 19 and boys up to age 8.
Contestants may pre-register for an early-bird price of $50 until Saturday, July 18. Day-of registration starts at 2 p.m. July 25 and costs $60. The pageant will take place in the courthouse square, Engelmann said. Should it rain, the pageant will be held in the American Legion Post 158 Hall in Jackson.
Food vendors will open at noon July 25. Beer will not be served and rides will not be open during the pageant, Engelmann said.
Fountain City Amusements will provide rides. Tuesday, July 21, and Thursday, July 23, attendees can ride the rides at a discounted price. Ride tickets will be sold for $2 on Tuesday, and wristbands will be available for purchase Thursday night for unlimited rides.
Vendors and rides will open at 6 p.m. each evening, with festivities wrapping up at 10 p.m. each night.
