James Van Der Beek‘s ex-wife, Heather McComb, remarried four months after the Dawson’s Creek actor’s death.
The Party of Five actress tied the knot with actor Scott Michael Campbell in Missoula, Montana, on May 30 and shared the happy news on Instagram the following day. “Our hearts are full and humbled by all of the love that we were surrounded by,” she wrote in a lengthy post alongside a carousel of photos from their wedding.
McComb and Campbell started dating in 2023 after knowing each other for more than 15 years, McComb previously reveal on Instagram. They got engaged in April 2025.
“God is so good,” she continued. “Thank you to all of our family and friends who traveled from all over the country to be with us. Thank you Jesus the way maker miracle worker! You all made it so special and a truly magical weekend that we will never forget. We are sitting here counting our many blessings.”
The 49-year-old was married to Van Der Beek for nearly seven years from 2003 until their divorce in 2010. That same year, he married Kimberly Van Der Beek, to whom he remained married until his February 11, 2026, death. They shared six children.
After his death, McComb opened up about her grief in a touching Instagram post that paid homage to the late actor’s family. “I am heartbroken over the loss of beloved James,” she wrote. “I am especially heartbroken for his incredible wife Kimberly, his beautiful children and his amazing family, Jim, Jared, Juliana and all of his family and friends who I know he loved deeply.”
“I sit here in immense gratitude for the special connection, friendship and love that James and I shared that has endured through decades. I will treasure the last loving words we exchanged,” she added. “James was a beautiful soul filled with so much light, love, talent, humor, depth, sensitivity, knowledge and a deep love of God that shined through him.”
