Janet Jackson is entering a new chapter in her career, signing a global administration deal with Believe Music Publishing that will bring her entire catalog under the company’s management. Announced March 19, the agreement places one of pop and R&B’s most influential bodies of work with the France-based music company as it continues expanding its publishing division.

According to Billboard, the deal covers Jackson’s full catalog, spanning more than four decades of music. That includes 11 studio albums, from her 1982 debut through 2015’s Unbreakable, along with a long list of chart-topping records. Seven of those albums reached No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while she has earned 10 No. 1 singles on the Billboard Hot 100.

Chris Meehan, CEO of Believe’s publishing division, highlighted Jackson’s influence in a statement, calling her “truly a one-of-a-kind artist” with a clear creative direction.

‘“She brings an iconic and rich catalog to Believe Music Publishing and I couldn’t be more excited for what’s to come,” he said.

Peter McCamley, the company’s VP of publishing, added that Jackson remains “one of the most influential and important songwriters in music,” noting the team is looking ahead to working closely with her.

The partnership comes as Believe continues to scale its publishing arm, which officially launched in late 2024 following its acquisition of Sentric Music Group.

Jackson’s catalog carries both commercial weight and cultural impact. She has sold more than 180 million records worldwide and remains part of the Billboard Hot 100’s five-decade club, alongside artists like Cher and Madonna.

Her most recent chart appearance came through a sample on Cardi B’s “Principal” in 2025.

That run traces back to Control, her 1986 breakthrough album, which produced her first Hot 100 No. 1 with “When I Think of You” and established her as a dominant force in pop music, and which she recently commemorated with a 40th anniversary post.

The album not only launched a series of hit singles but also marked a turning point in her artistic independence, setting the foundation for later projects like Rhythm Nation 1814 and janet.

The new agreement comes as Jackson continues to be recognized for her legacy, including an Icon Award at the 2025 American Music Awards.
