The next episode of New Heights is about to get juicy, thanks to Jason Kelce‘s top-tier interview skills.
Following the release of Taylor Swift‘s new album The Life of a Showgirl, Jason will be asking brother Travis Kelce all of the burning questions about the album, specifically the cheeky track titled “Wood.”
Jason Kelce Wants to Know How Travis Feels About Taylor Swift’s New Song ‘Wood’
In a preview for the upcoming episode of Jason and Travis’ New Heights podcast, the former Eagles player asks his brother point-blank about the song “Wood,” which is believed to be about Travis’ “magic wand,” as Swift puts it in the song.
“How do you feel about ‘Wood,’ let me ask this,” Jason, 37, says to his younger brother in the teaser for the Wednesday, Oct. 8 podcast episode.
After hearing the question, Travis, 36, lets out a bashful laugh, but the video cuts out before he answers—so fans will have to tune into the episode to hear what he has to say.
In the meantime, Swifties couldn’t help but gush over Jason and his interview skills, with some users on X (formerly Twitter) comparing him to Barbara Walters for his keen ability to ask the questions the hard-hitting questions.
“jason you truly are barbara walters wow thank you for asking the right questions,” one user wrote.
“Jason is the Barbara Walters of the sports world,” someone else quipped, while another user added, “lmao everyone say THANK YOU JASON !!!”

In the lyrics to “Wood,” Swift sings about “superstitions,” mentioning common cliches like knocking on wood, stepping on a crack, black cats, crossed fingers, etc.—but it didn’t take her fans long to read between the lines.
With lyrics like “New Heights of manhood” in the catchy tune, Swift is believed to be alluding to Travis’, well, manhood.
More raunchy lyrics from the song include lines like: “Redwood tree it ain’t hard to see / His love was the key that opened my thighs,” and, “The curse on me was broken by your magic wand.”
Swift also sings during the song, “Girls, I don’t need to catch the bouquet / To know a hard rock is on the way.”

While making an appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallonon Monday, Oct. 6, Swift opened up about the recording process for “Wood,” insisting that the cheeky lyrics weren’t always meant to be so dirty.
“I brought this into the studio and I was like, ‘I wanna sort of do a throwback kind of timeless-sounding song,’ and I have this idea about like, I ain’t gotta knock on wood and we would knock on wood and it would be all these superstitions,” she told Fallon.
“It really started out in a very innocent place,” the singer said with a laugh, before adding, “You know, it started out… I dunno what happened, man, I got in there, we started vibing and I don’t know… I don’t know how we got here but I love the song so much.”
The new episode of New Heights drops on Wednesday, Oct. 8.
