Lionsgate has finally set a release date for Jason Statham‘s upcoming action thriller, Mutiny, which has nabbed a late summer window (via Deadline). Originally slated for a January release, the movie was pushed back from its intended date in order to make room for Lionsgate’s Greenland 2 with Gerard Butler.
The movie will now open on August 21, 2026, and is coming from director Jean-François Richet, notable for helming Lionsgate’s 2023 action thriller Plane, which also featured Butler. Although the delay was a bummer for fans of Statham’s works, a late summer release could be a blessing in disguise for the movie, especially after the underwhelming reception to A Working Man.
