JD Vance Has Surprising Reaction to ‘Finally’ Making His ‘South Park’ Debut originally appeared on Parade.
The vice president of the United States had a surprising response to his South Park debut after the satirical series “finally” featured him on last night’s episode.
JD Vance took to X early in the morning on Thursday, Aug. 7, to address his inclusion. “Well, I’ve finally made it,” he quipped—a far cry from the White House’s outrage over the first episode of the season’s depiction of Donald Trump.
“Welcome to Mar-A-Lago!” the show’s official account on the social media platform originally tweeted, sharing a screenshot from the episode that showed a cutout of Vance’s head on a white-suited figure much shorter than the president’s depiction, which stood more than twice as tall at his side—an apparent reference to the series Fantasy Island.
Vance’s toned-down response is somewhat of a surprise given the White House’s official statement late last month, which slammed the animated show as a floundering “fourth-rate” series with “record low” popularity (note that, according to Paramount, the episode garnered the streamer’s “best season premiere rating since 2022”).
“This show hasn’t been relevant for over 20 years and is hanging on by a thread with uninspired ideas in a desperate attempt for attention,” a White House spokesperson suggested at the time.
