CBC’s Music Class Challenge powered by MusiCounts returns for a fall 2025 edition and registration is open now.
Every year, we challenge music educators from across Canada to teach their students a Canadian song from our list, create a video performance of the students playing the song, and submit it for a chance to win praise and great prizes. The submission form is available here.
Below are the key dates to keep in mind if you are participating in this year’s contest:
- Tuesday, Aug. 26: Official registration begins at 3 p.m. ET.
- Tuesday, Nov. 18: Registration and video submissions close at 8 p.m ET.
- Friday, Dec. 12: Top 10s revealed at 8 a.m. ET.
- Friday, Dec. 19: Winners announced at 8 a.m. ET.
Classes may submit their completed videos at any time before submissions close on Nov. 18. However, videos will only start appearing on CBC’s YouTube channel after Nov. 20, and will be posted for one year.
