PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — The oversized termite that keeps watch over I-95 is getting into the holiday spirit Sunday night.
“Nibbles Woodaway” will soon sport his traditional antlers, lights and blinking red nose. It will be the 33rd year that the 58-foot-long bug is decked out for the holidays.
Rhode Island R&B icon and Grammy Award-nominated artist Jeffrey Osborne has been named this year’s celebrity lighter.

The ceremony will also honor the Boys & Girls Club of Providence, which is one of the charities supported by Osborne’s annual golf tournament.
Also performing at the ceremony will be the AccessPoint Rhode Island Glee Club.
The lighting is scheduled for 6 p.m. in the parking lot of Big Blue Bug Solutions and will be streamed live on Facebook.
