Friends helped make Jennifer Aniston into a household name, and she was popular in part because the show portrayed her as a “girl next door” type that would attract Ross, whose normy character was the ultimate audience surrogate. Since then, Aniston has starred in a few raunchy films to try to shed her good girl reputation, including Horrible Bosses. But if you’d like to see just how naughty this sitcom star can be, you’re going to have to stream We’re The Millers on Netflix.
The wild premise of We’re The Millers is that a lowly drug dealer is forced to smuggle a huge stash over the Mexican border in order to clear a nasty debt. Realizing that a single white male crossing the border with an RV would look suspicious, he decides to hire his neighbors so they can pretend to be his family. It’s a solid plan on paper, but everything from interpersonal drama to friction with his fellow criminals threatens to end this dealer’s schemes for good.

As you might expect, the strength of We’re The Millers is its talented cast of comedic actors. Ted Lasso star Jason Sudeikis plays the drug dealer who creates the crazy fake family plan, and he is joined by Friends star (and fellow Horrible Bosses alumnus) Jennifer Aniston as the stripper who pretends to be his wife. American Horror Story and Scream Queens star Emma Roberts plays a runaway with a dirty mouth, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 star (and the star of this movie’s infamous “you guys are getting paid?” reaction meme) Will Poulter plays the drug dealer’s hapless neighbor.
While the core cast is great and has jaw-droppingly funny chemistry, it’s worth mentioning that even the extended cast of We’re The Millers is amazing. Parks and Recreation star Nick Offerman plays a quirky DEA agent and Agatha All Along star Kathryn Hahn plays his oddball wife. The Hangover star Ed Helms plays a half-silly, half-scary drug lord, and he’s joined in this raunchy comedy by other funny actors like Luis Guzmán and Thomas Lennon.

All of these great performers help make We’re The Millers much greater than the sum of its hilarious parts. I was originally hesitant to check this movie out because I thought the premise of a drug dealer faking a whole wacky family sounded forced and more than a bit stupid. But a tight script and confident direction from Rawson Marshall Thurber (best known for directing Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story) helped elevate this movie into a timeless comedy full of unforgettably weird scenes.
Critics didn’t agree, though, and We’re the Millers currently has a 48 percent critical rating on Rotten Tomatoes. Notably, though, the film had a much higher audience score of 77 percent. Between the audience score and this film earning a $270 million against a budget of only $37 million (these guys are getting paid!), it’s fair to say this is one naughty comedy with serious mainstream appeal.
Jennifer Aniston stuns in We’re The Millers
Will you agree that We’re the Millers is a stellar, star-studded comedy, or is this one film you’d rather throw back across the border? You won’t know until you stream Jennifer Aniston’s naughtiest film for yourself. Afterward, you may never look at innocent Rachel on Friends the same way again!
