Are you ready for flop season? Thanks in large part to recent Copenhagen Fashion Weeks, as well as runways from the likes of Balenciaga, Chanel, Valentino, and more, flip-flops have become much more than just a trusty beach shoe. They’ve gone high fashion. And if there’s one person who you can always expect at the front lines of any eccentric trend, it’s Jennifer Lawrence.
Earlier this week, the Die My Love star was spotted in New York City in a mix of patterns, fabrics, and fits, where her flip-flops ended up being the main attraction.
For her casual outing, Lawrence wore a pair of busy floral-printed slacks, layered underneath a breezy black button-up, which she left mostly undone for a split-hem effect.
When it comes to any Lawrence ensemble, the key is always the accessories, and here, she brought her A game, carrying a tan suede Diorly tote from Dior, while stacking on some gold and black rope necklaces that she left to dangle across her chest.
Up top, the actor also popped on some black Thistles sunglasses, as well as a blue Citymeals on Wheels baseball cap (keeping the celebrity merch trend alive, but with a purpose).
However, it was Lawrence’s shoes that truly stole the show. Turning to one of her favorite brands, the Row, the Oscar winner selected a pair of skinny red-and-black Dune thong sandals, which tied everything together and also brought back Lawrence’s beloved pop-of-red styling trick.
Just when you think Lawrence can’t get any more chic, she manages to make flip-flops something fabulous.
