Now that we’re finally in the season of farmer’s markets, many of the stars appear to be taking inspiration from their pantries, bringing the garden straight into their closets, whether it’s with “tomato” and “grape”-hued outfit combos, or crossbody bags shaped like their favorite French bread.
Specifically, there’s been an uptick in citrus dressing. As celebrities begin to turn away from the soft butter yellow that’s been trending these past few years, they’ve been opting instead for a more electric lemon, paired with bright tangerines, pomegranates, and limes.
Jennifer Lawrence is the latest to the give this color craze her stamp of approval, as evidenced by her most recent street-style ensemble.
As she stepped out in New York City on Monday, the Oscar winner dressed the part of a Brooklynite, looking casual and chic in a few winning statement pieces.
Turning to one of her favorite brands, the Row, Lawrence slipped into her go-to pair of Vincit suede loafers in lemon yellow, while also wearing the house’s Big Sisea striped button-up shirt.
One citrusy pop wasn’t sufficient for Lawrence, though, as she also added a pair of bright-orange slacks with white stripes going down the sides. (Arguably, the matcha in her hand acted as a third citrus-esque touch.)
Finally, she completed her look with some chunky cat-eye sunglasses and a brown leather Lindy bag from Hermès that she slung over her shoulder.
This summer, Lawrence says, we’re taking style inspo straight from the produce aisle.
