Jennifer Lopez went viral last week for recreating a newly famed “Off Campus” scene with Mika Abdalla in this video. She has repeatedly gushed about how much she adores the record-breaking Amazon Prime Video series. Lopez also co-stars with Brett Goldstein in “Office Romance,” hitting Netflix on June 5.
But J.Lo prefers the romance in her life remain fictional.
The rom-com legend appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” to promote “Office Romance” on Wednesday, and Kimmel veered the conversation toward Lopez’s relationship status.
Lopez enthusiastically confirmed that she’s single: “I should have done it sooner! I’ve been doing it all wrong. I’ve been doing it all wrong. Trust me.” She also shut down Kimmel’s humorous suggestion that she should be the next lead of “The Bachelorette.”
“No,” Lopez said. “Are you crazy? I’m not doing anything to ruin how I feel right now. It’s fantastic. I love it. […] I’ll meet somebody somewhere one day, if they’re good enough. I don’t know. It’s not now.”
Lopez has been married four times — Ojani Noa, Chris Judd, Marc Anthony, and Ben Affleck, in that order — and shares 18-year-old twins, Max and Emme, with Anthony. She was also engaged to Alex Rodriguez for two years before they jointly announced their split in April 2021.
Last October, Howard Stern asked Lopez if she felt she’d ever truly been loved, to which she said no, but she confirmed that she has truly loved someone.
“When I got divorced this last time, it was the best thing that ever happened to me,” Lopez added. “Because it really made me journey into — I mean, I had a religious coach. I had a therapist, a couple’s therapist, an individual therapist. I had a coach to understand addiction. I had everything. I was like, ‘I’m gonna [expletive] figure this [expletive] out if it kills me.'”
