As he prepares to take the stage tonight (Feb. 20) at Rodeo West in Dallas, Texas, Jesse Turner of Siggno is embracing the past, honoring his mother’s memory, and stepping boldly into a new chapter.

In a heartfelt interview on The Bo Corona Show on Fierro HD, Turner opened up about the highly anticipated Recuerdos Tour with Grupo La Firma, his upcoming deeply personal album, and the beginning of a new collaboration era — including the just-released “Traté de Olvidarte/Hasta la Cima del Cielo” medley with Grupo Sólido.

“It Was Ours”: The Birth of the Recuerdos Tour

Turner says the idea for the Recuerdos Tour came naturally, rooted in shared history with La Firma frontman Louie Padilla.

“It was ours,” Turner said. “We both come from the same era, from the same time.”

He praised Padilla’s songwriting legacy, noting that many fans may not realize the depth of his catalog. From hits for David Lee Garza y Los Musicales to chart-toppers recorded by Intocable — including “Soñador Eterno” and “Coqueta” — Padilla’s influence runs deep. He has also penned songs for Grupo Pesado and many others.

Despite that impressive résumé, Turner says La Firma’s own hits like “La Llamada” and “Para Olvidarla” deserve just as much recognition.

The idea for a joint tour intensified after Turner joined La Firma at a packed show at Arena Monterrey, where more than 12,000 fans filled the venue. Surprise guests included David Olivarez and Jose Zamora of Grupo Costumbre.

“We all went, and it was an honor to share the stage with them,” Turner recalled. “And we’re like, man, we should make this tour — remembering the past, yet still doing something in the present, staying relevant.”

Music Born From Loss

The Recuerdos Tour represents nostalgia and celebration — but for Turner, this season is also deeply personal.

After the passing of his mother in August, Turner poured himself into music during the week leading up to her funeral.

“I went into the studio and I wrote a bunch of songs because I didn’t want to be home and I didn’t want to be sad,” he shared. “So I finished the album during that time. I sang before my mom was buried, and I wrote her a song.”

The upcoming album — his first release since her passing — is centered entirely around her memory. The cover features a photo of Turner and his mother, a tribute that sparked an emotional moment with Padilla.

When Padilla saw the artwork, he revealed that he had written three songs for his own mother after her passing 13 years ago — songs he had vowed never to release. But their friendship changed that.

“He said, ‘Let’s do this song that I’ve had for my mom.’”

The result is a brand-new collaboration titled “La Ausencia,” a powerful symbol of shared grief and healing. Turner says the project goes beyond touring — it’s about creating something meaningful for the future.

“We’re not just doing a tour together. We’re doing songs together.”

The two have already teamed up on classics like “Esta Lloviendo,” “Mejor Dímelo,” and “Para Olvidarla,” but “La Ausencia” marks a fresh and emotional chapter.

A Collaboration Era Begins

Turner also unveiled a brand-new medley blending his heartfelt original “Traté de Olvidarte” with “Hasta la Cima del Cielo,” performed alongside Grupo Sólido.

“It’s a mixture of the past,” Turner explained. “What great way to celebrate my mom’s life than to not live in sadness, but live in memory — and take steps forward and be happy.”

He calls it the beginning of a new collaboration era — one rooted in unity, friendship, and honoring legacy through music.

One Night, One Stage

Backstage, Turner says the chemistry between Siggno and La Firma is undeniable.

“All we do is talk, all we do is sing,” he said. “They’re all talented musicians. If you’ve never seen La Firma, they are one of the most talented musicians that you can find.”

He also highlighted the mutual respect between the bands, noting how Padilla introduces Siggno to Mexican audiences by reminding them of the group’s impact and legacy.

For now, the Recuerdos Tour stop at Rodeo West in Dallas is a rare opportunity to see both powerhouse bands share one stage. While Turner hinted they may revisit the concept later this year, he made it clear: tonight is special.

“It’s happening at Rodeo West, and you can’t miss it,” Turner said. “You cannot miss this one opportunity to see Siggno and La Firma together.”

With a new album on the horizon, collaborations in full swing, and music born from both remembrance and resilience, Jesse Turner is proving that even in loss, there is light — and through memory, there is strength.
