Jessica Biel proudly celebrates a milestone from the iconic franchise, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, that she was a part of in 2003.
The 1974 original is considered one of the cult classic suspense horror films and left a lasting mark on audiences, leading to eight more subsequent films.
The 2003 remake helped solidify Biel’s status as a breakout star.
After more than two decades since it was first released, the Golden Globe nominee took a trip down memory lane and looked back on her character, Erin.
In an Instagram post, Biel shared a throwback snap of herself dressed in a white tank top, flared jeans and a cowboy hat, a notable nod to her unforgettable look in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.
In addition to this, she penned a touching message as she reflected on the 22nd anniversary of the movie.
“Can’t believe it’s been over 20 years! So honored to be part of the franchise. Happy anniversary to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” she wrote.
Fans in the comments shared how nostalgic the movie felt, calling it a true classic.
“You absolutely KILLED IT in this role. Erin is one of the greatest final girls! Happy Anniversary to Texas Chainsaw Massacre,” a follower said.
“In my opinion, this is still the best Texas Chainsaw Massacre movie,” one wrote.
“One of the best, if not the best horror remakes of all time!” another added.
Aside from fans, Biel’s husband Justin Timberlake gave her a sweet shoutout, calling her the “Legendary Scream Queen.”
Released on Oct. 17, 2003, the Marcus Nispel-directed movie is a remake of the 1974 horror-crime film that tells the story of a group of young travelers who stumble upon an isolated farmhouse in rural Texas.
Unfortunately for them, the home belongs to a cannibalistic family, most notably the chainsaw-wielding maniac known as Leatherface.
In the movie, Erin, played by Biel, becomes the sole survivor after she manages to escape the Hewitt family.
Barry Watson, Jessica Biel and David Gallagher pose at the after-party for “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.”
Prior to landing the notable role, the actress admitted that she had concerns about doing a remake of a classic movie.
“I was scared to step into the big shoes,” she told Hollywood.com in an interview.
Despite the film’s terrifying premise, the actress revealed that shooting it was an exhilarating experience, especially because of the adrenaline rush and intensity she felt on set.
