Jessica Biel revealed she’d love to shrink her sons Silas, 11, and Phineas, 5, to carry them around
Biel stars in Matchbox the Movie, her first film in nine years, inspired by her love of action and nostalgia
She said her kids influenced her return to acting, ensuring the timing and project were right for her family
Jessica Biel had a relatable answer when asked what she’d shrink down and keep in her pocket all day.
The actress, who is starring in the new film Matchbox the Movie that’s inspired by Mattel’s iconic toy cars, told E! News at San Diego Comic-Con 2026 that she’d love to shrink her two boys down to carry them around all day.
“My kids!” Biel said of her sons Silas, 11, and Phineas, 5, whom she shares with husband Justin Timberlake. “That would be great if they could just hang out right in a pocket, hanging with me all day long.”

At the same event, Biel, 44, spoke with PEOPLE about starring in Matchbox the Movie, which marks her first time back on-screen in nine years. She explained that her kids were part of her decision to get back into acting.

“Getting back into the film industry has been something that I’ve been really excited about doing,” Biel told PEOPLE exclusively at the event. “It has to be right timing, it has to be the right thing.”
“I have little kids, you know, there’s a lot of elements that go into a decision, for me at least,” the actress added. “I just was inspired by this cast, was inspired by these cars and the nostalgia. I wanted to do something in the action space again, and this just seemed like the right thing. I was really excited to be a part of it.”
Although Biel and Timberlake, 45, don’t often share details about their sons’ lives, in June the actress celebrated Timberlake with a heartfelt post on Instagram, featuring rare photos of their family of four.

The first photo was a family ski selfie where the group of four could be seen standing atop a snowy mountain, all decked out in their ski gear. Another photo showed Timberlake hiding behind a cowboy hat, and Biel also shared a sweet video of the “Cry Me a River”singer carrying his son through an arena.
“Happy Father’s Day to the dad who is always ALL in,” she began. “The one who turns ordinary moments into adventures and bedtime into comedy hour. The dad who is not afraid of the tears, the tender, quiet times, or the hard conversations.”
“Watching you be a father is one of my favorite things. Our boys are so lucky to call you Dad. WE ❤️ U!,” she concluded her post.
Last summer, Biel shared a carousel of photos on her Instagram, which included a photo of her two boys. The brothers both wore helmets and could be seen carrying a skateboard and a scooter as Silas leaned down to hug Phineas.
Wearing a gray shirt and black shorts, Silas gently hugged his brother, who opted for a neon orange vest and ripped jean shorts. “Family summer vibes ♥️,” Biel wrote in her caption.
