Jimmy Kimmel is seemingly on the move after his show was suspended by ABC over comments surrounding the death of Charlie Kirk. On Wednesday, September 17, the late night host was spotted for the first time since news broke.
Kimmel, 57, was seen hurriedly getting into a waiting vehicle in a Los Angeles parking garage, according to footage obtained by TMZ. The Jimmy Kimmel Live! host carried a black backpack as he hopped into the passenger side of his Chevy Silverado.
The network announced on September 17 that they would be suspending the long-running talk show indefinitely after pressure from station owners and the FCC.
“Nexstar’s owned and partner television stations affiliated with the ABC Television Network will preempt Jimmy Kimmel Live! for the foreseeable future beginning with tonight’s show,” the company – which owns 28 ABC affiliates nationwide – said in a statement. “Nexstar strongly objects to recent comments made by Mr. Kimmel concerning the killing of Charlie Kirk and will replace the show with other programming in its ABC-affiliated markets.”

Kimmel previously revealed that his current contract would likely be his last. While the contract does not expire until 2026, reports are now claiming he’s ready to “break his relationship with [the network] forever.”
“Jimmy is pissed over the decision to suspend him and the show and he isn’t going to take this lightly, as he is actively looking for ways to get out of his contract,” a source told Daily Mail following the comedian’s suspension.
“This is the last straw and Jimmy is now looking to forever break his relationship with ABC forever.”
