Jimmy Kimmel on Thursday urged his viewers to help “honor” President Donald Trump by adding his name to something everyone’s talking about.
Instead of referring to the files related to late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein as “the Epstein files,” Kimmel wants everyone to start calling them the “Trump-Epstein files.”
“Trump’s name is mentioned more than a million times,” he pointed out, referencing comments made earlier this week by Rep. Jamie Raskin (D-Md.).
Raskin said he searched the unredacted files that members of Congress have access to for “Don,” “Donald” and “Trump” and received more than 1 million results.
That led to Kimmel’s own result: changing the name of the files to the Trump-Epstein files, which appeared on the screen in large letters every time he used the phrase.
“We’re getting that trademarked,” he said. “But you can spread it around. Feel free.”
Kimmel launched the effort earlier this week when he noted the president has been obsessed with putting his name on as many places as possible. He’s added his name to the side of the Kennedy Center and reportedly wants it included on New York’s Penn Station, Washington Dulles International Airport, and more.
“If that’s the way to keep him happy, why, I have another suggestion for something we could name after him, and it’s big and I think he’ll like it because it’s something everyone’s talking about,” he said Wednesday. “Something that he actually, unlike most everything else he wants named after him, deserves to be a part of.”
The result? The Trump-Epstein files.
