Jodie Comer Goes Sheer in Givenchy for ‘The Death of Robin Hood’

Jodie Comer revived the dark glamour trend in a sheer lace black Givenchy by Sarah Burton dress for Wednesday night’s New York City premiere of “The Death of Robin Hood.”

The Emmy Award-winning “Killing Eve” alum sported a long-sleeve dress from the French luxury fashion house with a high neckline and A-line skirt. The entirety of the fabric for the dress was cast in black with ornate lace detailing throughout. The intricate, floral-inspired lace sat atop sheer black fabric.

As for glam, Comer turned to Christian Wood for her hair, which was styled with a middle part and in soft, natural waves. Makeup highlights included bold browns and lined eyes with a neutral lip by artist Emily Cheng. Comer’s look was curated by stylist Emma Jade Morrison, who also works with “Love Story” breakout star Sarah Pidgeon.

Following years at Alexander McQueen, Sarah Burton assumed the creative director role for Givenchy in September 2024. Over the course of the last few years with the French luxury fashion house, Burton’s emphasized “how the woman feels in the clothes,” she told WWD’s Miles Socha in November 2025.

Several high-profile stars have joined Comer in their support of Burton’s vision for Givenchy. Cate Blanchett, Cynthia Erivo and Angelina Jolie have all worn designs by the British-born couturier under the Givenchy label.

Comer portrays Sister Brigid in “The Death of Robin Hood,” a role the actress found “really inspiring” while reading the script. “It’s rare to sit down with a script that feels complete — and sings! It was stunning,” Comer told WWD‘s Samantha Conti.

“It felt poetic and I found Brigid’s poise and grace really inspiring. She is able to transmute her pain, and not meet violence with violence, and I found myself pondering how I would behave if I was confronted with someone from the past who had inflicted so much pain on me,” she said.

“The Death of Robin Hood” follows the titular outlaw, played by Hugh Jackman, after years of crime and murder. When an injury leaves him near-fatally wounded, he takes stock of his life and takes a step towards salvation. The film hits theaters June 19.
