Joe Giudice is getting candid about how much money he dished out in the early days of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
On Monday, August 18, the former reality TV personality, 53, who was married to housewife Teresa Giudice from 1999 to 2020, appeared on daughter Gia Giudice’s Casual Chaos podcast and revealed some shocking numbers.
“I think the first year, we had that big party in my great room,” he recalled. “I think that show cost me $150,000 the first year.”
The first season of RHONJ aired in 2009, and Teresa, 53, has been a cast member on all 14 seasons.
“We got paid nothing the first season,” the Bravo star admitted. “I’ll even say, it was like $25,000. I mean, it was ridiculous, but whatever.”

Gia, 24, chimed in and explained how the housewives across all the franchises are supposed to be “displaying their lives and the parties and the glam.”
“When you’re throwing parties and stuff like that, especially for the first season, you’re putting in more money than you’re actually getting out of it,” she noted. “So obviously, you know, you grow and make your way and make your name.”
Teresa and Joe — who also share daughters Gabriella, 20, Milania, 19, and Audriana, 15 — have had many financial issues in the past.
The former couple was convicted of fraud in 2014. Teresa served 11 months in prison in 2015, and Joe began serving time in 2016 and was released in 2019, before being deported to Italy.
