Joe Manganiello Engaged to Caitlin O’Connor After 2 Years

Joe Manganiello is engaged to Caitlin O’Connor after two years together.

TMZ broke the news on Friday, October 17, with a source telling the publication that Manganiello gushed over his new fiancée while giving a speech at the San Diego International Film Festival the night before. The actor won the Spotlight Award during the Night of the Stars Tribute.

Us Weekly has reached out to Manganiello’s rep and O’Connor for comment.

Engagement rumors started swirling in June after the Daily Mail published photos of O’Connor in Sicily with what appeared to be a diamond on her left hand. A source told Us Weekly exclusively the following month that the two weren’t gearing up to get married just yet — but hinted that there was a proposal on the way.

“They are not engaged … yet,” the insider shared at the time. “But it’s heading in that direction soon. It’s not really a question.”

The source told Us that Manganiello, 48, and O’Connor, 36, are “very strong together and serious about a future.” The couple wants “to have a family,” the insider continued. “She wants to be a mom, and he’s open to being a father.”

Manganiello met O’Connor in September 2023 at a post-premiere party for her HBO series Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty. The duo were spotted leaving in the same car at the time and made their official red carpet debut two months later.

“We are both from Pittsburgh,” O’Connor told E! News in October 2024 of their romance. “I’m from Uniontown, which is about an hour and a half south of Pittsburgh, but we met in Los Angeles. I was at a party for Winning Time, and he was there.”

At the time, she told the publication that they were having “a lot of fun” together.

A source later shared exclusive insight into the pair’s romance. “Joe and Caitlin are both so easygoing that they work really well together,” the insider told Us Weekly.

Manganiello went Instagram official with O’Connor in February 2024, revealing that they celebrated Valentine’s Day together. One month later, a separate source hinted to Us that marriage was “definitely in their future.”

Throughout their relationship, Manganiello and O’Connor have proved to be a supportive couple, often praising each other in sweet social media uploads.

“Happy birthday to my very handsome, very loyal, intelligent, genuine, fun, and funny adventure buddy, protector and Bubbles’ Dada,” O’Connor wrote via Instagram in December 2024, referring to their dog.

Earlier this year, a separate source told Us that Bubbles approves of the relationship between Manganiello and O’Connor.

“We definitely have seen that Joe’s beloved rescue chihuahua, Bubbles, loves Caitlin,” the insider shared this past February. “Bubbles loves kissing Caitlin on the face and allowing Caitlin to hold her, which is pretty rare since she is protective of Joe.”

Prior to his relationship with O’Connor, the True Blood alum was married to Sofia Vergara. The former couple wed in November 2015 and were together for seven years before announcing their separation in July 2023. Us confirmed in April 2024 that their divorce was finalized.
