Our favorite cat-loving girl is back for a new adventure, this time on the big screen. Since 2021, Gabby’s been inviting kids into her whimsical world through the hit series Gabby’s Dollhouse and its spinoff Gabby & Friends.
Created by Traci Paige Johnson and Jennifer Twomey, the song-filled, mixed-media Netflix series follows Gabby as she unboxes a miniature surprise that transports her into the colorful, magical world of her dollhouse. Once she gets toy-sized and animated, Gabby is ready for fun with all her unique cat friends that reside there.
This Fall, Gabby brings her sprinkle party to the movie theaters with the release of Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie.
All About ‘Gabby’s Dollhouse: The Movie’
Gabby’s big screen debut sees her on her wildest adventure yet, joined by Grandma Gigi, voiced by Grammy Award winner Gloria Estefan. After a fun road trip, they reach the urban wonderland of Cat Francisco, but things don’t go according to plan.
Gabby’s dollhouse accidentally rolls away and falls into the clutches of Vera, an eccentric “cat lady” played by Oscar nominee Kristen Wiig. Now, Gabby must embark on a wild journey to reunite the Gabby Cats and save the dollhouse.
In the new film, Laila Lockhart Kraner reprises her role from the series in both real-life and animated versions of Gabby. Plus several comedic stars join Gabby’s world, including Ego Nwodim, Kyle Mooney, and Melissa Villaseñor, all of whom are known for their work on Saturday Night Live. Jason Mantzoukas (Invincible), Fortune Feimster (Velma), and Emmy nominee Thomas Lennon (Reno 911) also lend their voices to the project.
If you’re parenting a Gabby super-fan, rest assured—the movie sticks to the same themes that make the shows so wildly popular. To save the dollhouse, Gabby will need to lean on a growth mindset, flexible thinking, and the ability to learn from her mistakes.
Gabby’s Universe Continues to Grow
According to Nielsen Media Research, Gabby’s Dollhouse ended 2024 as the ninth most-streamed original series. Its popularity has inspired an expanding universe that now includes theme park attractions, live fan events, and immersive experiences.
Fans can join Gabby, Pandy Paws, CatRat, Cakey, DJ Catnip, Baby Box, MerCat, and the rest of her friends as they team up to save the dollhouse in theaters starting September 26.
