Hollywood actor Josh Hartnett was rushed to hospital last week after a police vehicle collided with the SUV he was travelling in. The incident occurred in St John’s, Canada, and details emerged on September 29 that the 47 year old star was a passenger in the car when the crash happened around 1am on Thursday (25.09. 25), as reported by CBC News. The SUV, driven by an unnamed 59 year old man, was hit by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary vehicle at the junction of New Cove Road and Elizabeth Avenue.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary stated: “As a precaution, one of our officers was also transported to hospital.” Officials confirmed that Josh, his driver, and the officer were all assessed for minor injuries by medical staff. Both vehicles involved in the accident were said to have been “significantly damaged”.
Investigators are now appealing for witnesses and anyone with video footage of the incident to come forward.
At the time of the accident, Josh was returning from work on an untitled Netflix production. The project, locally referred to as the “untitled Netflix Newfoundland series”, boasts a cast including Mackenzie Davis, Darrin Baker, Charlie Heaton, Tanchay Redvers, Joshua Close, Rohan Campbell, Ruby Stokes, Kaleb Horn, Willow Kean and Natasha Henstridge.
