Actor Josh Hutcherson has two very good reasons for why he doesn’t spend much time online: work and angry Taylor Swift fans.

“I got some heat because I did a photo shoot with [my ‘I Love LA’ costar Jordan Firstman in December], and Jordan asked me something about being a [Taylor Swift fan], and I was like, ‘Oh no, I’m definitely not a Swiftie,’” he said in an interview with British GQ published on Monday.

“All of a sudden it garnered this, ‘Fuck him! He’s a monster! Destroy him! He’s short! He hates her because he’s short!’” Hutcherson, who is 5 feet, 5 inches, said about the comments he received from upset Swifties.

The “Hunger Games” star said the harsh backlash made him want to stay off the internet.

“It’s just like, whoa! I think she’s great. Her music is not my kind of music,” he added. “That is why I don’t want to be online.”

Hutcherson, 33, initially made the comments about the pop star back in December during an interview with i-D magazine, according to multiple outlets.

“I’m not a Swiftie. Very much not,” Hutcherson said at the time. “No shade, all respect, but definitely not.”

“A little tiny shade,” Firstman quipped in response. “She can handle a little bit of shade.”

It doesn’t appear that Swift, who wrote and recorded two songs for 2012’s “The Hunger Games” movie soundtrack – “Safe & Sound” and “Eyes Open” – ever publicly addressed Hutcherson’s remarks. celebrity.land has reached out to Swift’s reps for comment.

Elsewhere in the interview with British GQ, Hutcherson explained why he thinks frequent online usage can negatively affect his presence on the big screen.

“It’s counterintuitive to my job, because if people know you more, you can’t disappear into characters,” he said. “They see you as, ‘Oh, that’s Josh.’ You know what I mean? So, if you’re a fucking meme, people know you for the meme.”
