The View co-host Joy Behar questioned the latest Bachelorette casting on Friday, taking aim at Hulu star Taylor Frankie Paul’s dating history.
“So will these bachelors line up to be baby daddy number three?” Behar said, after The View aired a clip of Paul’s recent Call Her Daddy interview.
The 82-year-old comedian, who was slammed by the White House in July, didn’t hold back.
“Isn’t that the whole point of the show? To find your lover and get married? But she’s got a little bit of baggage.”
Paul, 31, is known for her appearance on Hulu’s Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and her role in launching the viral #MomTok community.
She shares three children with two former partners: daughter Indy May, 8, and son Ocean, 5, with ex-husband Tate Paul, and her youngest son, 17-month-old Ever True, with ex-boyfriend Dakota Mortensen.
This The Bachelorette marks the first time a lead has come from outside the Bachelor franchise.
Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin expressed mixed feelings.
“It’s always been someone within the Bachelor franchise,” she said. “My mom was texting me, had strong feelings about it. This is someone outside the franchise.”
Griffin acknowledged Paul’s past but urged viewers to consider her personal growth.
“She’s had actually a pretty challenging life,” she said. “They navigate a very restrictive religion. She’s stepped out of the faith and now is trying to find herself.”

Sarah Haines echoed that sentiment, calling the move “A-level synergy” between Hulu and ABC.
Paul’s Mormon Wives co-stars Jen Affleck and Whitney Leavitt were recently announced as contestants on Dancing With the Stars Season 34.
She rose to fame on TikTok in 2022, when she admitted to being involved in a “swinging” arrangement with other married Mormon influencers.
