Julia Fox is open about going under the knife, but it sounds like she wrestles with occasional regret.
The “Uncut Gems” star got wistful talking about her own plastic surgery in a new interview with Allure, published last week.
As the magazine noted, Fox started doing injectables and fillers at 21. The actor has also previously been upfront about having undergone liposuction and a rhinoplasty.
“Now, when I see someone and I can tell they’ve never done anything…I wish I could go back and be that person,” Fox told the outlet, adding that she “was so hung up on this idea that I needed to be attractive to men so that I could survive.”
The “Down the Drain” author said that she “probably will” do more work in the future, but she’s “just not as concerned with it right now.” Though she is worried about aging.
“That’s what I think I’m the most scared of, feeling old, and there are times where I feel old,” she said. “Tired, over it, disillusioned.”
But Fox remains unwavering on one thing: the need for transparency around procedures.
“It’s super important when you become famous or a public figure to be transparent,” she told Allure, echoing a belief she’s shared before.
“Women set the bar for each other and I feel like if you’re setting an unrealistic bar [if you’re not honest]. That’s really great for you, but what about all the girls that are so impressionable and feeling like ‘Wait, why don’t I look like that and what’s wrong with me?’”
