  • The winner for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series was awarded at the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys

  • In addition to Julianne Nicholson from Hacks, other nominees included Olivia Colman and Jamie Lee Curtis from The Bear, Cynthia Erivo from Poker Face, Robby Hoffman from Hacks, Zoë Kravitz from The Studio

  • The 2025 Creative Arts Emmys are being presented in Los Angeles this weekend and will be broadcast Saturday, Sept. 13, at 8 p.m. ET on FXX

It was a showdown between six standout comedic performances by some of the most iconic actresses at the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys.

Julianne Nicholson was named the winner of Outstanding Guest Actress in a Comedy Series for her role in Hacks (HBO Max) at the 2025 Creative Arts Emmys on Saturday, Sept. 6.

Also nominated in the category at the 77th annual awards show were Olivia Colman and Jamie Lee Curtis from The Bear (FX on Hulu), Cynthia Erivo from Poker Face (Peacock), Robby Hoffman from Hacks (HBO Max) and Zoë Kravitz from The Studio (Apple TV+).

Nicholson, 54, wowed as Mary Alice, a.k.a. Dance Mom, in the latest season of Hacks.

Nicholson’s character seems like your average American mom making a name for herself with silly dance moves on TikTok, but the fame rushes to her head and she quickly spirals with her new life in Los Angeles. It’s a wild ride, for sure.

Nicholson is already an Emmy winner for her work in Mare of Easttown in 2021 and could add two trophies to her shelf this year as she is also nominated in the Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Paradise in addition to her Hacks nod.

Colman, 51, plays Chef Andrea Terry, the head chef of the fine dining restaurant Ever, on The Bear.

After making a positive impact on Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach) in her season 2 debut, Chef Terry returned in the season 3 finale to deliver a moving speech about the importance of a restaurant being service to the customer — not the food itself. She also reveals she’s closing Ever.

This is Colman’s second Emmy nomination for playing Chef Terry on The Bear. She also has nominations under her belt for The Night Manager, Fleabag and The Crown — the latter of which she won the Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series in 2021 for her portrayal of Queen Elizabeth II.

Curtis plays Donna Berzatto, the matriarch of the Berzatto family, on The Bear.

Curtis’ powerhouse performance as the troubled mother of Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White) won her the Emmy in this category last year for her no-holds-barred work in the season 2 episode “Fishes.”

Taking the stage after her name was announced, Curtis, 66, told the crowd in her acceptance speech, “You know there’s a saying, ‘Hurt people hurt people,’ but I also think you can add to that and say, ‘Helped people help people,’ and I think that’s the story of The Bear.”

Backstage after her win, Curtis called herself “the luckiest girl in the world.”

Outside of The Bear, Curtis’ only other Emmy nomination was for her role in the 1998 television film Nicholas’ Gift.

Erivo played not one, but five, different characters in Poker Face.

Kicking off season 2 of the Natasha Lyonne-starring series, Erivo, 38, played Amber, Bebe, Cece, Delia and Felicity Kazinsky in an episode that will have your head spinning as you try to keep track of which sister she’s currently playing at any time.

Already a Daytime Emmy winner for The Color Purple, Erivo was previously nominated in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for her role as Aretha Franklin in Genius: Aretha in 2021. In fact, the Wicked actress is an EGOT winner already.

Hoffman, 35, made a major splash on Hacks this year.

As if Hoffman’s year couldn’t get any better… Just months after marrying former Bachelorette star and The Traitors winner Gabby Windey, the comedian had a breakthrough role as Paul W. Downs‘ Jimmy LuSaque Jr. and Megan Stalter‘s Kayla Schaefer’s new assistant, on Hacks season 4.

This is Hoffman’s first-ever Emmy nomination.

Kravitz, 36, plays herself on The Studio amid an all-star list of guest stars.

Kravitz first pops up in the eighth episode of the series, as Seth Rogen‘s Matt Remick fears she might forget to thank him in her Golden Globes speech if she wins for the project he greenlit, the movie Open. In a hilarious turn of events, her mic cuts off as she attempts to shout him out.

Kravitz is nominated, however, for her work in the season 1 finale — which sees her getting high on mushrooms despite having to present her new movie, Blackwing, at CinemaCon. It goes well, until it doesn’t.

This is Kravitz’s first Emmy nomination.
