Justin Moore steps away from touring and Riley Green found a legendary fill-in

Riley Green recently lost a key player from his tour when Justin Moore announced he was stepping away from the stage to focus on his health.

His replacement for Moore, though, is pretty darned good.

That is because country music legend Clint Black will fill in for Moore on at least some of Green’s tour stops. That includes shows this weekend in New Jersey and New York.

Green’s “Cowboy As It Gets” tour is also slated to stop in Burgettstown, PA on June 26, but it is not clear if Black will be a part of that show.

Moore recently announced he was stepping away from the stage for health reasons.

“I’ve made the decision to take some time to focus on my health,” he wrote on Instagram. “As a result, I’ll be stepping away from touring for a short period and will be unable to perform some upcoming shows. This is the right decision for me and my family, and I appreciate everyone’s understanding and support.

“I look forward to getting back out there later this summer and doing what I love most.”

Taste of Country reported that Moore canceled two concerts slated for Delaware on June 11 and June 12.

Moore, 42, did not specify the exact health reason behind his decision or how long he would be away, but Taste of Country said he shared in April that he tore his MCL on a ski trip earlier this year.

Moore’s decision to step away adds to a growing list of country music stars who have decided to take time off for various health reasons this year.

His followers and friends were quick to send him support following the announcement.

“Take care of YOU brother and those kiddos and mama,” singer Jake Owen replied.

“One of my favorite country music artists, I hope everything is OK,” Scott Faulkenberry wrote. “I’m glad Justin is taking care of himself, have seen him twice, fantastic shows. Get well soon.”
