The artist formerly known as Kanye West’s Bully, which debuted at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 earlier this year after taking on several different forms in the months leading up to its release, is now available to shop on Complex.
The digital edition of the album opens with “King,” a Duke Edwards-sampling track that, yes, does indeed share a name with a very different “King” off Ye and Ty Dolla Sign’s initial Vultures volume. Features on the project include Travis Scott and André Troutman, among others, with Troutman, specifically, turning in a standout performance on the highlight “All the Love.”
Ahead of Bully’s long-teased release, Ye took out a full-page ad in the Wall Street Journal in which he spoke at length about his struggles with bipolar disorder and his desire to “earn” forgiveness for his past hateful remarks.
“I regret and am deeply mortified by my actions in that state, and am committed to accountability, treatment, and meaningful change,” Ye wrote in January. “It does not excuse what I did, though. I am not a Nazi or an antisemite.”
While Bully-era live performances have proven complicated elsewhere, Ye’s two shows at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles in April were sellouts, with Lauryn Hill and North West both making special appearances.
Bully is available now on Complex on vinyl, CD, and cassette. Notably, the tracklist for the physical editions differs from the streaming version.
The College Dropout, Late Registration, 808s & Heartbreak, My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy, Donda, and more are also available on Complex. For Complex’s ranking of Ye’s catalog, see here.
