Katy Perry and Chief Keef have officially linked up.
Footage of the pop singer, 41, and the Chicago rapper, 30, surfaced on Wednesday (May 27) of the two reuniting in what appears to be a rehearsal studio.
In one of the clips, Perry’s fan-favorite track “Legendary Lovers,” from her 2013 album Prism, is heard playing in the background as she sings along. The moment already has some KatyCats speculating that an official remix with Keef is on the way.
Footage also circulated of the unlikely duo taking photos together while wearing Glo Gang hoodies.
Their meetup came days after Perry revisited her unusual history with Keef more than a decade after their unexpected social media feud made headlines.
Earlier this week, Perry posted a viral TikTok claiming to be “Attempting to summon Mr. Keef.” The video quickly spread online as fans recalled the pair’s infamous 2013 exchange connected to Keef’s song “Hate Bein’ Sober.”
In May 2013, Perry jokingly tweeted that she heard “Hate Being Sober” on the radio and that it gave her “serious doubt for the world.”
Although she did not directly mention Chief Keef by name, the Chicago rapper responded with several hostile tweets directed at the pop star. One of the posts included a threat toward Perry, while another teased, “New Song Katy Perry Coming Soon.”
The back-and-forth eventually cooled down after Perry publicly apologized to “Mr. Keef,” writing, “I’m sorry if I offended you. I heard a lot of people guesting on the song & didn’t even know it was you in particular. Actually…”
Keef later accepted the apology and replied, “Oh [confused face emoji] Im Sorry Too Then [pensive face emoji].”
Their brief online feud later evolved into a musical connection when Chief Keef sampled Perry’s 2013 song “Legendary Lovers” on his 2014 track “Save Me.”
According to Newsweek, Perry’s “Legendary Lovers” recently found new life as the track’s streams on Spotify reportedly jumped 70% in a single day on March 23.
