Kelly Rizzo opened up about signs she believes she has received from husband Bob Saget since his 2022 death
She recalled learning that a flock of doves appeared during Saget’s funeral, something noticed by Lori Loughlin and other attendees
Rizzo said the moment felt especially significant because doves had long been associated with Saget’s late mother
Kelly Rizzo is opening up about the moments that made her believe her late husband Bob Saget may still be sending her signs.
On the Wednesday, June 3 episode of her podcast Comfort Food with Kelly Rizzo, the television host, 47, reflected on her evolving views about receiving messages from loved ones after death, admitting she was once skeptical of the idea.
“Do you believe in signs?” Rizzo asked listeners. “And when I mean signs, I mean signs from your loved ones, signs from somebody who’s passed away.”
She explained that before Saget’s death in January 2022, she never paid much attention to stories about signs from lost loved ones.
“I maybe thought it was a little woo-woo. It was not really in my realm of consciousness,” she said.
But in the four years since losing the Full House star at age 65, Rizzo said a handful of experiences have changed her perspective.
Rizzo then shared a story from Saget’s funeral that was later relayed to her by his Full House costar Lori Loughlin
Because she was overwhelmed with grief that day, Rizzo said she wasn’t aware of what was happening around her. But afterward, Loughlin told her she had noticed a flock of doves appearing during the service.
“Lori said, ‘They were the most beautiful doves. Did you guys get somebody to release the doves?’ “ Rizzo recalled on the podcast.
According to Rizzo, family members and friends were similarly struck by the sight. She said Saget’s son-in-law, Andy [Kabel], also noticed a large flock of doves appearing during a prayer and around the time of the burial.
“Doves for him were a sign from his mom,” Rizzo explained, before noting that Saget previously told her that the birds made him think of her.
She also shared what she called the “biggest sign” she ever received from her late husband, which came roughly four months after his death.
According to Rizzo, she had recently moved into a new home and was spending an evening with her sister when she suddenly began experiencing alarming vision issues.
“I remember looking at my sister’s face, and I’m like, ‘I can’t see you,’ “ she remembered. “I can’t see her face … it just started getting worse and worse.”
As her symptoms worsened, Rizzo said she became increasingly frightened and feared she was experiencing a medical emergency. “Now there’s all these weird colors and shapes,” she said. “And I’m like, ‘I’m having a stroke. I’m gonna die.’ “

While discussing the experience, Rizzo suggested she ultimately connected the incident to one of the powerful signs she believes came from Saget after his death.
“I’ve never really had many signs, and then I had these two massive ones come and smack me in the face,” she said. “Those are ones where I’m like, all right, I can’t really chalk that up to just a coincidence.”

Saget died Jan. 9, 2022, after he was found unresponsive in a hotel room in Orlando, Fla., while on a stand-up comedy tour. He and Rizzo had been married for over three years at the time of his death.
Authorities ruled that Saget’s death was due to blunt head trauma sustained from an unwitnessed accidental fall in his hotel room at The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes.
“We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today,” Rizzo and his family said in a statement at the time. “He was everything to us and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter.”
Saget’s funeral was held just five days later and was attended by friends, family and costars, including John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Jodie Sweetin, Dave Coulier and Loughlin.
