Kimmel’s Cousin Says He Doesn’t Know What the Comedian Will Do Next, But There Are ‘Bombshells’ Still to Reveal

Jimmy Kimmel’s cousin, Sal Iacono, who is a longtime writer for the late-night host, said he’s unsure of what the Jimmy Kimmel Live! front man will do next after being suspended by ABC.

As reported by celebrity.land, Iacono told The Bill Simmons Podcast that he couldn’t say much about the future of the show, but indicated that a surprise or two are on the way.

“I wish I could say anything. There are a couple bombshells still there,” Iacono said. “I’m feeling good. We’re going to be all right. Everything’s going to be just fine.”

Iacono said Kimmel will find another platform if the show is ultimately canceled.

“He’ll be fine, whatever he wants to do. Hey listen, he might just want to be a pop-up chef and start making barbecue around the South Bay area. He’ll do a great job,” Simmons quipped.

Iacono said his son, in junior high school, told his Uncle Jimmy, “Hey, some kids at school say it’s not right what happened to you.”

“And so Jimmy says, ‘Well, what did you say?’” Iacono said. “He’s like, ‘I said, “Yeah, I think you’re right.’”

“And Jimmy’s like, ‘Well, next time tell them, “I’m not too worried about what happens; my cousin Jimmy is an excellent dancer.’”

Jimmy Kimmel Live! was yanked off the air after Kimmel said in a monologue that “the MAGA gang” was “desperately trying to characterize” conservative activist Charlie Kirk’s shooter “as anything other than one of them, and doing everything they can to score political points from it.” Kimmel also made fun of the way the president was grieving.

Free speech advocates and entertainment industry notables have decried Kimmel’s suspension, with more than 400 Hollywood entertainers signing a letter by the American Civil Liberties Union in support of Kimmel.
