King Charles was savagely heckled over his brother Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor during a public engagement today.

Charles and Queen Camilla braved the drizzle with umbrellas as they greeted wellwishers in the Essex village of Dedham, following a visit to a 15th-century pub. A man wearing a grey hat and holding a blue umbrella called out as the King approached: “Charles, Charles, have you pressurised the police to start investigating Andrew?” Police officers subsequently approached the individual and escorted him away from the barriers.

The King appeared not to hear the outburst, continuing to greet people along the line with his security detail while officers led the protestor away. The retired-age man carrying an umbrella departed voluntarily, with officers expressing gratitude for his cooperation.

Moments later, a news reporter standing beside a cameraman attempted to question Charles about his brother. The King, who did not acknowledge the inquiries, was then guided to the opposite side of the road, away from the crowds, to continue the walkabout.

This follows Camilla’s decision yesterday to also ignore questions about Andrew and the Epstein controversy during a Royal engagement at a London primary school. Andrew, the King’s brother who recently departed Royal Lodge for the Sandringham estate this week, is confronting a wave of new allegations linked to the convicted sex offender financier.

The claims include accusations that a second woman was trafficked to the UK by Jeffrey Epstein for a sexual encounter with Andrew, and that Andrew and Epstein propositioned an exotic dancer for a threesome at Epstein’s Florida residence. The former duke, who was stripped of his titles by the King last year, has consistently denied any wrongdoing.

Meanwhile, hundreds of wellwishers braved the rain today, with Dedham residents eager to showcase their village and greet the King. As he left, several people called out “God Save the King” and “Hip Hip Hooray,” while many addressed him as “Your Majesty” or “Sir” as he and the Queen walked along the street greeting supporters.

The day was filled with casual conversation, touching on topics like the dreary weather and chilly temperatures, with locals expressing their gratitude to the King and Queen for making the visit. Their opening stop was The Sun Inn, where the Royal couple demonstrated their support for neighborhood pubs.

Publican Piers Baker mentioned to the King “we heard you like martinis,” and gifted him a pre-mixed cocktail in a bottle to enjoy later. The King and Queen encountered various groups of “community heroes,” representing organizations from a domestic abuse support charity to a ‘Money Confidence’ initiative, along with environmental and wildlife groups and a local vineyard.

The King was overheard asking detailed questions about hops, earthworms, and wine varieties. The Queen was handed an apron to assist in preparing ricotta, cheese and lemon zest ravioli, quipping that she was better suited than her husband to help out in the kitchen.

“I’d only make a terrible mess,” the King concurred, arriving after she had completed slicing and examining the pasta. “He’s best off making a martini,” Camilla remarked to the chef.

Emerging from the pub to the sound of a town crier ringing a bell and heralding their presence, the King and Queen were met with a wave of Union flags and enthusiastic cheers.

Near the conclusion of their walkabout, they enjoyed a performance by a choir of schoolchildren in the street, before briefly entering the Essex Rose Teahouse where Charles revealed a plaque and sliced a cake. After stepping back outside, they chatted with additional members of the public before departing in a Bentley.

Adrian Sharpe, from Dedham, was part of the gathering that came to witness the King and Queen’s appearance. The 62 year old handyman described the atmosphere as “nice and casual really for a village event – obviously high security.”

Regarding the heckler’s protest, he remarked: “I think it’s pointless really as what Andrew’s done is what Andrew’s done, it’s not what King Charles has done is it? He’s his own person.”

He noted that “they’ve taken the HRH off of Andrew,” questioning: “What else can they do?”

Andrew appears multiple times in the most recent Epstein documents which were made public by the US Department of Justice on Friday, including photographs seemingly depicting him bent over an unidentified woman.

On Tuesday, Andrew’s younger sibling Prince Edward became the first Royal Family member to address the Epstein controversy publicly, stating it’s “really important always to remember the victims.”

The Duke of Edinburgh was present at the World Governments Summit in Dubai as increasing pressure built on the former Duke of York to clarify what he knew about the pedophile billionaire.

During the summit, when questioned “how are you coping” following the new files’ disclosure, Edward responded: “Well, with the best will in the world, I’m not sure this is the audience that is probably the least bit interested in that.

“‘They all came here to listen to education, solving the future, but no, I think it’s all really important always to remember the victims and who are the victims in all this? A lot of victims in this.”

In other developments today, the Prince and Princess of Wales met with the Church of England’s newly appointed leader – Dame Sarah Mullally, who has become the first woman to serve as Archbishop of Canterbury.

The 30-minute meeting at Lambeth Palace represented a milestone occasion, underscoring the significance the couple attach to faith and their connection with the established Church.

William and Catherine arrived beneath overcast skies to be welcomed by Dame Sarah, whose historic appointment by the King was formally confirmed last week at St Paul’s Cathedral. Sources at Lambeth Palace indicated the Waleses are eager to “spending time with Archbishop Sarah and building a strong working relationship” – signaling close collaboration moving forward.
