King Charles is said to have a savvy response to how he deals with the royal scandals involving Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor and Prince Harry. The King, who is celebrating his 77th birthday today, is currently in South Wales taking on various engagements including overseeing the official opening of the South Wales Metro Depot.
Despite still undergoing cancer treatment, the King is showing no signs of slowing down as he is keen to “salvage the reputation” of the Firm. Speaking of the monarch, one expert has shared that the King is keen on fulfilling engagements and carry on with his duties due to the scandals involving his youngest son and his brother.
Andrew, who is set to move out of Royal Lodge very soon, lost his titles and honours last month amid backlash to their respective links with the late paedophile Jeffrey Epstein.
Harry, who now lives in America with Meghan Markle and their two children, stepped down as a senior working royal in early 2020.
Since his departure from the Firm, the 41-year-old has repeatedly spoke about the royals in various interviews and, most famously, his bombshell memoir Spare.
Royal expert Jennie Bond told the Mirror: “I’m not surprised to see the King racing around the country, carrying out as many engagements as he can fit in – despite his long-suffering wife’s appeals to take things a little more slowly because of his cancer.”
Discussing his decision to carry on with duties, she added: “But I’m sure he believes that if he just carries on fulfilling as many engagements as possible and being seen to care deeply about this country and its people, which he does, he can salvage that reputation.
“And so he will be out and about again, even though it’s his birthday. But I’m sure Camilla will have planned some sort of small celebration later in the day.”
Speaking of what Camilla could have in store for her husband, Ms Bond added: “It may be just the two of them enjoying a quiet dinner together, or perhaps a few of their friends will be invited to join in.
“Either way, I’ve no doubt the Queen will make a fuss of her man.”
