King Charles has been praised by Sharon Osbourne after sending her a letter following the death of her husband Ozzy Osbourne in July. The monarch, 76, has met the Osbourne’s a few times over the years, with Sharon calling the King an “amazing person”.
On the latest episode of The Osbournes podcast, Sharon and two of her children Kelly and Jack spoke about their grief since losing Ozzy at the age of 76. During this chat, it emerged that King Charles had sent a letter to the grieving family not long after Ozzy’s death.
Jack revealed in the podcast: “We got a lovely letter from the King.”
Sharon then said: “Our King is an amazing person. He is an amazing person, not just because he wrote to us when Ozzy passed, but if he did it for us, know he does it for many, many, many people.
“Here’s a man that does know what’s going on in the street with people. Not just politics, not just you know, here’s a man that cares about the environment, animals. He cares about many, many, many things.”
As reported by People magazine, Sharon then revealed that the King had written to the family before, including in 2003 when Ozzy – best-known for being in the band Black Sabbath – was involved in a motorbike crash.
The former X-factor judge said: “He’s (the King) got a good heart. He didn’t have to do certain things that he’s done for Ozzy. He is a good, caring man with a good heart.”
She continued: “We respect him, we respect his family.
“And he, again, took the time out of his day to write us, have it hand-delivered to us, a note from the King for Ozzy’s passing with his condolences, and that says so much. “
King Charles was believed to have got on well with Ozzy, having met him properly in 2006 at a reception at Clarence House.
The King, who was The Prince of Wales at the time, was photographed laughing with the couple.
