Kroy Biermann posted a lengthy message about abusive relationships amid his divorce from Kim Zolciak.
“I’ve wrestled with this post for days, trying to find the words to communicate the weight and complexity of what I’ve lived through,” Biermann, 40, captioned an Instagram post on Friday, October 10. “How do you put years of confusion, pain, and survival into a few paragraphs? How do you explain what it’s like to be trapped in something that looks like love but feels like you’re slowly being ripped apart?”
The caption was shared alongside a video of Biermann sitting in a dark room. The clip was set to Isaac Mather’s song “I’m Proud You Stayed” and featured the same words from his caption flashing on the screen. (Comments on the post were limited.)
“There was a time I didn’t think I’d make it. The pain was so constant, the confusion, the isolation, the gaslighting. It felt like my soul was caving in,” Biermann alleged. “I was trapped in deliberately orchestrated chaos, yet somehow I was the one blamed for the storm. Every word I said was twisted. Every effort I made was never enough.”
He added, “And eventually, I started to believe, maybe I was the problem.”
Biermann wrote that he “prayed for it all to just stop,” as the lengthy note continued.
“When you’ve been broken down long enough, death can start to sound like peace,” he added. “But God. God met me in that darkness. When I didn’t have the strength to fight for myself, He fought for me. He reminded me that my life still had purpose, that my story wasn’t over.”
Biermann noted that amid the alleged “pain and abuse,” he heard from God: “You are mine. You are not what they said about you.”
The former NFL player concluded his message with a note to fans.
“If you’re in that place right now, where the weight feels unbearable, please, cry out to Him,” he wrote. “You don’t have to have the right words. You don’t even have to believe perfectly. Just call His name. He will meet you there. He is the way out.”

Biermann noted that he is “still healing” and has “scars” after the tumultuous relationship he’s referencing.
“I’m proud I stayed. Because staying doesn’t mean staying in the abuse. It means staying alive. Staying faithful. Staying open to what God can do with your pain,” he concluded. “You are not alone. You are not too broken. You are not forgotten. God’s not done with your story.”
While Biermann did not reference anyone by name, commenters were quick to speculate that he was referring to estranged wife Zolciak, 47. (Us Weekly has reached out to Zolciak for comment.)
The former reality stars married in 2011 and have been embroiled in a messy divorce since 2023, with allegations varying from Zolciak claiming Biermann has gone on profanity-filled rants in front of the kids to Biermann alleging that Zolciak has a gambling problem. The former couple’s divorce proceedings are still ongoing.
Zolciak and Biermann share kids KJ, 13, Kash, 12, and twins Kaia and Kane, both 11. Biermann also adopted Zolciak’s daughters from a prior relationship, Brielle, 28, and Ariana, 23.
