During Episode 3 of this season’s Dancing with the Stars, Robert Irwin sent the crowd wild when he took his shirt off. Viewers weren’t the only ones impressed with the Australian zookeeper’s torso.
It wasn’t long before Las Vegas’ famed Chippendales came calling. They offered Robert the chance to perform with the group at Planet Hollywood.
Sadly, Robert didn’t feel the gig was right for his squeaky clean image, so he’s already turned it down.
Robert Irwin’s shirtless dance on Dancing with the Stars sent fans wild
In a post-show interview with ET, Robert and his dance partner Witney Carson discussed their Disney Night cha-cha to Shakira. “The hips don’t lie!” Robert quipped.
“Did you see his hips?” Witney asked. “I mean, come on!”
“You’ve created a monster,” laughed reporter Denny Directo.
“I’m having the best time,” the wildlife photographer added. “I’m having too much fun, and I’m just so grateful to do this with Witney.”
Moving on, the reporter asked, “Is it true that you were approached by the Chippendales to host a show? Is it something you’re considering?”
“That is true,” Robert responded, confessing that the “Aussie boys” of Thunder Down Under also reached out. “More power to ’em, just not for me. Not right now. I’ll take the shirt off every now and again…”
At this point, Witney interjected, “No, he won’t be.” Rumor has it she actually regrets having him remove his shirt last week. Moving forward, she wants the focus to be on his dancing, not his sex appeal. She wants the fans to “take it down a little.”
“Anything to push the conservation message,” Robert added. Though he’s “flattered,” it’s just “not for me” at this time.
Dancing with the Stars Season 33 airs on Tuesdays, at 8/7c on ABC and Disney+.
